Description
I am offering an extremely dynamic philatelic set from Somalia from 2001. This series pays tribute to courage and human potential, dedicated to the legendary pioneer of wingsuit jumping and skydiving – Patrick de Gayardon. The stamps are characterized by a modern, almost cubist style and vivid colors.
Set Composition (MNH Condition)
-
3 Single Stamps: Values of 100, 500, and 3000 Sh. So. They depict extreme sports enthusiasts in action: high-altitude skiing/freeriding on steep slopes and rock climbing. Each stamp is a small work of art depicting man's struggle with nature.
-
Large Souvenir Sheet: The most important element of the set! It depicts Patrick de Gayardon in flight. The integrated stamp with a value of 3300 Sh. So. and a large illustration in the margin of the sheet convey the incredible feeling of space and freedom that accompanies extreme jumps.
