Description
This impressive commemorative block is a philatelic record of the rivalry between two superpowers for dominance in space. Issued during the heyday of the Apollo program, it presents the key machines of both sides of the "Cold War race."
What will you find in the notebook?
The sheet contains two large stamps of high artistic value:
-
10F stamp (top): Dedicated to the American Apollo program. It shows the lunar module (LM) and command module (CM) in orbit. Apollo missions 11, 12, 13, and 14 are listed in the margin.
-
Stamp 35F (Bottom): It presents Soviet space achievements (Réalisations spatiales soviétiques). It shows a probe (probably from the Luna series) maneuvering above the surface of the Moon, with Earth visible in the distance.
Why is it worth having?
-
Historical Context: The block comes from a groundbreaking moment in human history, when landing on the moon became a reality.
-
Impressive Setting: Wide margins with the inscription "Feuillet de luxe" and a decorative black frame give the pad a very dignified appearance in the album.
-
Theme: "Space": One of the most popular areas of thematic collecting, which never loses its value.
-
Visual condition: Despite the deletion (CTO), the colors are vivid and the image is sharp and clear.
