Issued in 1990, this series commemorates the struggle for freedom and the fall of the dictatorship in Romania. Each stamp depicts key scenes and symbols of the revolution – from demonstrations in various cities to tragic images of fighting and mourning the fallen. These stamps include a surcharge (marked as "+..."), which originally supported the national fund for rebuilding the country. It remains one of the most significant postal issues of modern Romania.
