This unique 1999 issue is one of D. Vangelli’s most recognizable works for the Somali post. The designer moved away from realism in favor of dynamic cubism and futuristic geometry. The series brilliantly combines symbols of traditional desert communication (the camel silhouette) with modern aviation and letter symbolism. Each stamp is a separate, multicolored composition that looks like a miniature piece of modern art.
